South America: Carnival

Emerging out of the symbiosis of native religion, catholocism and the mining heritage of the Oruro Area, is a flowing tapestry of color, motion and music. Carnival emits an energy unlike any performance I have ever seen. With dancers representing every department of Bolivia, it is a celebration and a showcase for the rich diversity and unique character of the country as a whole and a tribute to the spirit, energy and passion of the people of the altiplano.
